The difference is in the price you pay for your membership. If you opt for the annual membership then you receive the greatest savings and you lock in this price for the year as we continue to add in features to Welle Club.
You can opt to change your membership at the end of your membership cycle if you wish.

Yes, there are absolutely options to fit a vegetarian lifestyle. Welle Club’s vegetarian recipes are ‘lacto-ovo-vegetarian’ which means we have used eggs and dairy. You can also make recipes that include meat and swap out the protein for one that fits your lifestyle.

I’m worried my shopping list is going to be crazy expensive!
If that first shop is worrying you, please don’t stress! Your initial shopping list may be pricey because you’re stocking up on staples. These staples will last AGES in your kitchen and will bring your cost of groceries down each week.
Once you have the staples you will find that you’re typically buying fresh meats and vegetables and also items for my household.

What is a keto diet?
In strict terms, a keto diet is a low-carb diet that results in your body being in a metabolic state known as “ketosis”.
In order to get into ketosis you have to adhere to a diet that is very low in carbohydrates. This is why keto diets generally are low in carbohydrates, moderate in protein and high in fat.
The amount of carbohydrates, protein and fat than each person needs to feel their best is completely individualised.

What is ketosis?
There are two main “fuel sources” for your body; carbs and fat. Ketosis is a normal metabolic state that happens when your body is fueled by fat, instead of your body using carbs as its major energy source.
By eating a keto diet, and removing those excess carbs from your body, your fuel source will switch over from being powered by carbs, to being powered by fat.

What foods can you eat on a keto diet?
Keto-friendly foods include meat, fish, eggs, vegetables, healthy fats (like avocado and olive oil), dairy and non-dairy alternatives (like unsweetened almond milk) to mention a few!
All Welle Club recipes are keto-friendly and can fit into a keto lifestyle.

Is a keto diet safe?
We always recommend consulting with your doctor to discuss your individual needs first before beginning a new programme. Generally speaking, a keto diet is very safe for most people.
If you are on medication for diabetes or for high blood pressure then we recommend that you speak with your doctor about how to safely handle medications on a low-carb or keto diet.

Can I follow a keto diet while pregnant?
We always recommend consulting with your doctor and/or midwife to discuss your individual needs first. We do not recommend adhering to a strict keto diet while you are pregnant. Instead, we suggest that if you feel well enough (nausea and food aversions are real!) then following a low-carb diet with anywhere from 50g – 100g of net carbs per day may be a good option for you.
If you are looking for more in-depth resources on what low carb foods are safe to eat while pregnant we recommend the book Real Food for Pregnancy: The Science and Wisdom of Optimal Prenatal Nutrition by Lilly Nichols.
Remember that it’s also important to eat adequate calories in general, and the metabolic demands of pregnancy will likely require more than your usual amount of calories.

Can you drink alcohol on the keto diet?
In short, yes you can. Low carb options include:
- Dry champagne and sparkling wine
- Red wine
- White wine (avoid sweeter wines such as dessert wines)
- Spirits and diet mixers, and/or soda water
We recommend that you practice moderation when it comes to drinking alcohol, particularly if your goal is weight loss.
If you are adhering to a keto diet it is also important to remember that your tolerance for alcohol may change drastically and that your hangovers may become a lot worse. A little goes a long way, so enjoy your glass of champagne, take it slowly and remember to drink lots of water!

Will I only lose weight if I’m in ketosis?
No, absolutely not. Being in ketosis does not guarantee weight loss – rather it is the overall consumption of calories that matter. What we love about the keto diet is that it makes adhering to a calorie deficit easy because the foods are filling and satisfying!
One of the possible side effects of being in ketosis is a reduced appetite, which can help you with reaching your goal of weight loss. However, not everyone experiences every side effect of ketosis the same.
Here at Welle Club, we want to encourage you to find what works for you! That may mean eating slightly more carbs, more fat, more protein… That is all okay because the most important thing is that you find what makes you feel your best! If that is being in ketosis, then great. If that is not being in ketosis, then that’s also great!
You can absolutely still lose weight and reach your goals if you are not in ketosis. It is about being mindful of the choices you’re making and adhering to the healthiest lifestyle that you can. And we are here to support you in finding your healthiest lifestyle so that you feel empowered to live well!

Can I follow a keto diet while breastfeeding?
We always recommend consulting with your doctor and/or midwife to discuss your individual needs first. We do not recommend adhering to a strict keto diet while you are breastfeeding.
Rather than adhering to a strict keto diet, following a low-carb diet with anywhere from 50g – 100g of net carbs per day may be a good option for you.

Remember that it’s also important to eat adequate calories in general, and the metabolic demands of breastfeeding will likely require that you consume more than your usual amount of calories.

Can you drink alcohol on the keto diet?
In short, yes you can. Low carb options include:
- Dry champagne and sparkling wine
- Red wine
- White wine (avoid sweeter wines such as dessert wines)
- Spirits and diet mixers, and/or soda water
We recommend that you practice moderation when it comes to drinking alcohol, particularly if your goal is weight loss.
If you are adhering to a keto diet it is also important to remember that your tolerance for alcohol may change drastically and that your hangovers may become a lot worse. A little goes a long way, so enjoy your glass of champagne, take it slowly and remember to drink lots of water!

Will I only lose weight if I’m in ketosis?
No, absolutely not. Being in ketosis does not guarantee weight loss – rather it is the overall consumption of calories that matter. What we love about the keto diet is that it makes adhering to a calorie deficit easy because the foods are filling and satisfying!
One of the possible side effects of being in ketosis is a reduced appetite, which can help you with reaching your goal of weight loss. However, not everyone experiences every side effect of ketosis the same.
Here at Welle Club, we want to encourage you to find what works for you! That may mean eating slightly more carbs, more fat, more protein… That is all okay because the most important thing is that you find what makes you feel your best! If that is being in ketosis, then great. If that is not being in ketosis, then that’s also great!
You can absolutely still lose weight and reach your goals if you are not in ketosis. It is about being mindful of the choices you’re making and adhering to the healthiest lifestyle that you can.
